Turkuaz Jakarta

Indulge in the World of Ottoman Turkish Delicacies

As you step into Turkuaz, you will be taken into the historic ambience that depicts the glorious of Ottoman Empire while variety ranges of authentic Ottoman Turkish food and beverage items on the menu are set to spoil your palate.

Chef Sezai Zorlu is the man behind the creation of the menu since July 2011 when we first opened Turkuaz, which has been awarded as one of Jakarta’s best restaurants.

Nestled in strategic South Jakarta’s elite neighborhood, Turkuaz transports you from the city’s hustle and bustle to a peaceful, Turkish-inspired atmosphere. A unique chandelier shaped like traditional Turkish tea glasses and a large picture of the country’s founding father Kemal Pasha Attaturk pay homage to Turkish heritage.

Each corner of the restaurant, from the color scheme to the furniture and decor, has been carefully designed to reflect the beauty of Turkey. Artistic and rare pieces hand-carried from the country are displayed on the walls and ceiling, offering guests a glimpse into Turkish culture and history.

Meet The Chef

Chef Sezai Zorlu is an exceptional, self-taught chef with a deep-rooted passion for authentic Ottoman and Turkish gastronomy. The Chef grew up on his grandparents’ farm in Iskenderun, Turkey where he developed his culinary savvy in crafting and cooking palatable cuisine from his native country.

Ottoman Turkish food is not comparable from Turkish fare you can find in most of the establishments. Ottoman Turkish cuisine blends the traditional Turkish delight with the palatable foods from Greece, the Balkans, parts of the Caucasus, and the Middle East.Chef Sezai is truly beyond an ordinary chef, as he is among a very few in the world and the only one in Asia who know the true secret of creating the sumptuous Ottoman Turkish fare – not to mention Chef Sezai’s long-standing portfolio at various reputable F&B establishments, including his previous role working hand-in-hand with his father who was the personal chef of a royal family for 15 years. Indeed, his portfolio has enriched him with in-depth knowledge of the regional cuisine.

Now based in Jakarta, Chef Sezai own and run two restaurants under Turkuaz Group: Turkuaz and Abang Turki, serving you with the unparalleled authentic Ottoman Turkish fare.

The Cuisine

Experience the rich culinary heritage of the Ottoman times at Turkuaz, where the freshest and healthiest ingredients are imported from Turkey and the Middle East. Our professionally run Turkish restaurant in Jakarta is the only one in Asia that relies on a wood-fire oven for nearly all its cooking processes, preserving authentic flavors just like they’ve been prepared for centuries in Turkey.

Our head chef, Sezai, is the only Ottoman Turkish Chef in Asia, with extensive experience working for different chefs and deep knowledge of regional cuisine. Signature dishes include the Lamb Shank, Adana Kebabs, Yayla Kebab, Kofte’s, and Sis Kebabs, all cooked to perfection on skewers and served with icli pilav.

Finish off your meal with a selection of sweet Turkish desserts like Baklava and Rice Pudding, or try our flavored Nargile (Sheesha) for a complete Turkish experience. At Turkuaz, we pride ourselves on our stylish presentation and the quality of our enticing cuisine.

Exclusive Private Dining Rooms

Indulge in an exceptional dining experience at Turkuaz, where you will find some of the city’s most exclusive private rooms. We have the magnificent Sultan Room, a space that transports you back in time with its historic walls. Here, in the room, guests will be amazed with a 300-year-old Ottoman carpet, 19th-century Persian armor, and early-Turkish bank bonds, all of which can be the subjects of your intimate dining talk during your meal. The room is painted in regal purple and takes inspiration from the stunning blue mosque, thus inviting you to immerse yourself in the luxurious Ottoman dining tradition. With a capacity of up to 14 guests, the Sultan Room is the perfect setting for a memorable gathering.

As you make your way up to the second floor, you’ll discover a plethora of dining tables, along with the enchanting Tulip Private Room that boasts a stunning view of the floor below. The room’s design was inspired by the delicate tulip, which is native to Central Asia and Turkey. While the sultan room is adorned in regal red, Tulip Room features a more refreshing pastel blue that perfectly complements the playful blue chandelier that adds a touch of whimsy to the ceiling. This exquisite room can easily accommodate up to 10 guests, making it an ideal choice for an intimate gathering or celebration.

No less interesting is Pera Room, which boasts the aesthetic beauty of cultural collections that speak of the rich culture of Turkey. This multifunctional room can be used for various events to make your celebration merrier while your eyes are pampered with astonishing historic objects.
