Adding to Jakarta’s repertoire of dining destinations, Turkuaz Restaurant is a purveyor of authentic Turkish cuisine, dedicated to preserving and introducing the rich heritage of Ottoman Turkish cuisine to Jakarta’s vibrant culinary scene. Ottoman cuisine refers to the culinary traditions that flourished during the Ottoman Empire and continue to influence the cuisines of Türkiye, the Balkans, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and beyond.
Today, Turkuaz enters a new chapter in Ciranjang, South Jakarta, bringing its distinctive culinary heritage to a more intimate and tranquil setting. After years of being part of the lively dining scene around Gunawarman, Turkuaz’s new home offers a quieter atmosphere where guests can step away from the pace of the city and enjoy a more private dining experience.
As you arrive at Turkuaz, the atmosphere immediately transports you beyond the streets of Jakarta. A custom-made chandelier inspired by the iconic tulip-shaped Turkish tea glasses draws attention to the ceiling, while carefully curated Turkish and Ottoman-inspired details throughout the restaurant create a sense of timeless elegance.
Every corner of Turkuaz has been thoughtfully designed, from its signature turquoise tones and custom-made furniture to decorative pieces that carry cultural and historical significance. The new Ciranjang location allows these elements to be experienced in a more intimate setting, creating an atmosphere that feels calm, personal, and removed from the bustle of the city.
Throughout the restaurant, artistic and distinctive pieces collected from Türkiye are displayed not merely as decoration, but as an invitation to discover the culture and heritage behind the cuisine. Historic objects, traditional ornaments, and carefully selected imagery come together to create an experience where dining becomes more than a meal — a journey through the rich cultural heritage of Türkiye.
At Turkuaz, the move to Ciranjang marks more than a change of address. It represents an evolution of the dining experience: from the energy of Gunawarman to a more serene and private setting, while preserving the authentic Turkish hospitality and Ottoman culinary heritage that define Turkuaz.
